Being lost along your path is a part of finding the path you are meant to be on.

Feeling lost seems like such a downer for a blog topic, but it is, more importantly, the way to discover what feels right and what we prefer not to re-experience. In a way, feeling lost is an avenue to gratitude and humility. I am sure you have had a difficult experience, and once you have come through it, you have breathed a sigh of relief and are grateful to be on the other side. And you are more inclined to be grateful for the lightness you feel when the “being lost” is over. Without adversity, we can’t feel gratitude. We can’t grasp the good in things without experiencing the negative aspects.

We fight adversity; we are fearful of it. We make it more difficult by resisting the challenging times, and, yet, going through those times is the only way we can gain strength and expand our abilities.

Yes, life is filled with a wide range of adverse experiences, as well as pleasurable and happy ones. Cultivating a relationship with the Divine opens the door to guidance and support through it all and opens us up to the Divine’s ability to smooth out our rough edges. The insights that come from surrendering help us see the purpose for our struggles and is what strengthens our faith and trust in ourselves and in the support that we receive for the next round.

If we never get lost, how can we learn to find our way?

How would it be if we never tried? Would we never venture out? Would we be stuck in our fear, not trusting that we have an internal guidance system built into us? This system is called our intuition, and it comes from our connection with the Divine.

My September blog article, “Lost”, is about the countless times throughout my young life I felt lost, hopeless, and cast out, not knowing why I was here and not feeling I had a place here on earth, let alone the right to be here.

The most precious gift I have been made aware of and continuously cultivate is my connection to God and his army of Angels. By spiritually tuning in daily, I am paying homage to the beings who orchestrate all my lessons, offering me more support when things get difficult. I invite you to do the same.

Dropping In

How can you begin or continue to cultivate a relationship with the Divine?

Make a commitment to yourself to spend at least 15 minutes a day to connect. Make a request of your Angels and Guides to help you create this new healthy habit. Ask them for a manifestation of the shifts you desire.

Each time you practice meditation, you are reinforcing a positive message, “I am worthy of the time and effort it takes to drop into my inner world so that peace and well-being flow into my life.”

Enjoy this meditation, from my heart to yours.

I can see clearly!

As I look back over my past, I see my life in the beginning as if I had been living in a deep valley that, at times, was quite difficult to traverse. Fog fills this valley, making it difficult to see ahead; jagged cliffs, deep crevices, and dark caves offer plenty of opportunity to get lost. Lightning and thunder, pounding rain, flash floods, mud slides, and sink holes all leave the earth beneath me uneven.

I am tired and want to lay my head down when suddenly the rain clears, the sun begins to shine, and a rainbow appears, covering the entire sky with its brilliance.

I can see clearly now. I have walked out of the darkness and into the light, and I am grateful for both!

The title of this song came to me as I was writing, and it fit so well with all I have shared in this month’s blog article. The upbeat tempo makes me feel like getting up and dancing.

Get up and dance! Will you join me in listening here?

If you have something you would like to share in an upcoming month, send me an email message and let’s discuss it. I want this to be a place we can all share our journeys, including motivational and moving books, poems, movies, and quotes, as well as any personal story or experience you are willing to share.

‘Til next time…
