It is through surrendering of control that we experience the perfection of creation!
By Lynzie Bailey
Imagine yourself being drawn toward something that makes your heart skip a beat and the energy of pure joy pulsate throughout your being. You feel a nervousness in your stomach, but in a good way, and you dream about this thing, this time, this idea, this new direction every night for weeks on end. You wonder if it could ever really manifest itself in your life. Is this feeling, this stirring within your heart and soul true; could it possibly come true?
Because…
…this “something” is what you have been waiting for, wanting, for such a long time and yet…
When you get there, you find yourself standing at what feels like an edge, the edge of your vision of possibilities. The image of a cliff appears in your mind, jagged rocks lining the hillside and connecting to an invisible bed of nothingness where there seems to be no bottom at all.
You cannot see this bottom, this dream, this direction from where you stand because it hasn’t happened yet.
You see, when you envision your dreams, you are at a crossroads in your life. You are facing a quandary, a fork in the road. “Which way should I go?” When you are at this fork in your road, you will be tempted to look for guidance in just your own experiences or those of others. Don’t give in to that temptation. It narrows your view and mires your perspective in the myopia that bounds those experiences.
Most of us automatically try to anticipate what’s next. But the future hasn’t happened yet; it’s still in the future. So, how do we know what will really happen or how things will actually turn out? Whether this “thing” will be good or bad?
To anticipate something is to realize beforehand, to expect, to look forward to, to be sure of. Nothing in the future is for sure, and that’s for sure!
In this month’s blog article, “Closing the gap with the Divine through surrender”, I speak of building faith by accepting your guidance from its source – the Divine. This kind of acceptance, or surrender, will take you where you are meant to go and connect you to the people you are meant to meet, as well as the “thing” you are meant to do.
For most of us, it’s uncomfortable to let go and submit to Divine guidance. We see ourselves stepping into a gap and falling into nothingness unless we are in control. The truth is much richer and more supportive of our growth as individuals and inhabitants of a Universe not of our making. Closing the gap is about understanding that we are not in control.
One of the meditations I was guided to write several years ago is all about surrendering. Yet, at the time I wrote it, I really had no idea what the word surrender meant. Since then many opportunities to surrender have been offered to me, and it is been because of these nail-biting, anxiety-ridden, panic-inducing situations that I am now – finally – getting the hang of surrender.
Building faith takes work!
When you are ready to make the changes, the tests will come. Then, you have the choice to allow your ego to drive your actions or to turn to God for a much smoother ride.
Next time you are faced with a difficult situation and you have no idea what to do, don’t do – SURRENDER!

Good Reads
This section is for book recommendations you would like to share that pertain to spirituality, spiritual growth, healing, angels…anything that speaks to feeding the soul.
If you have read a good book you think may be of interest, please send me an email message to Info@LynzieBailey.com, and I may include it in some future month’s newsletter.
This month’s book recommendation is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, The Four Agreements offers a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love.
A dear friend of mine made this recommendation, and this is what she said:
“It’s funny how the term ‘spiritual’ has changed for me. There have been so many claiming to be ‘spiritual’ who behave in ways that are the antithesis of what that word used to mean to me. The only book I would recommend is The Four Agreements, a Toltec Wisdom book by Don Miguel Ruiz, first published in 1997. This book has helped me strengthen my character through watching what I say, not taking things others say personally, and never making assumptions. Always do your best.”

If you have something you would like to share in an upcoming month, send me an email message and let’s discuss it. I want this to be a place where we can all share our journeys, including motivating and moving movies, books, poems, and quotes, as well as any personal story or experience.
‘Til next time…
Surrender is not a weakness, it is strength. It takes tremendous strength to surrender life to the supreme – to the cosmic unfolding.
